The 2022 Annual Scientific Meeting: Multidisciplinary Updates in Breast Imaging is presented by the Canadian Society of Breast Imaging (CSBI) in partnership with The University of Ottawa's Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics. Breast cancer is a complex disease characterized by many morphological, clinical, and molecular features. The 2022 Annual Scientific Meeting will focus on the evolution of breast cancer classification and how it has changed the management of breast cancer ushering in the era of personalized medicine. Our guest speakers will present a myriad of multidisciplinary topics that will educate the audience about the progress made in the diagnosis and management of breast cancer using molecular information along with advanced imaging techniques. Multidisciplinary presentations will cover updates in diagnosis, surgical and medical oncology including use of artificial intelligence and radiomics in prognostication in detection, and management of breast cancer.
This year we will have dedicated tracks for trainees and technologists which target their needs - especially sessions addressing positioning, image quality, second look ultrasound, and initiating research in breast imaging. We are also excited to have a special segment from our Patient Engagement Working Group to help us understand the patient journey and advocacy. Hear personal stories and experiences from our patient volunteers to experience breast imaging from the other side and how we can bring about change.
